Pre-arrival Look: Our Apartment and Surrounding Area

Thanks to the help of James at ReloJapan, BAC's relocation provider, we were able to find a nice, relatively decent sized (small), apartment at Prudential Tower. It is a 1-bedroom, and both Sae and I believe we'll need to do a decent amount of working from home due to the 14 hour time difference with ET, but we think we have a good bedroom-office, dining room-office plan established. We had about 7 apartments to choose from, but our decision came down to location, location, location... and amenities. It's located in the Akasaka area, and is only 2 subway stops away from the BAC-ML building in Nihonbashi, and walking distance to the Rippongi Hills area, which is an entertainment hub. Quite a few expats live in this same area, and it is a primary short term housing location for politicians, dignitaries, etc. The emporer's palace is within walking distance, and there is a neat temple right behind-diagonal to the building, very peaceful. I think Sae chose it as well for the perk of having free access to some very exclusive spas called the Hills Spas. There are a total of 4 near the building offering gyms, workout equipment, lap pools, hot tubs, saunas, indoor driving range, fitness and golf trainers, etc. ...I wonder how often I'll see Sae now... All the photos that we have thus far are from Sae's amazing friend, who lives two train stops away from the apartment. She was kind enough to take time, go visit a few of them, take some photos and help us make our decision. We can't wait to get there, get established, and see more of the area.
